Join Me for National Night Out

Tonight, instead of holding its regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall, the City Council will convene the first budget hearing of the year, and then go out into the community to participate in an important event happening all over the county – National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes partnerships between the police and residents, as well as neighborhood connections to make cities safer, better places to live. Residents, police and public officials will be gathering in their neighborhoods across the United States tonight to spend time together, build a sense of community, and support safety and quality of life in our cities.

I’m proud to participate and I want to invite you to join your neighbors at one of the gatherings happening all over Long Beach. It’s a great way to meet some more people in your community and spend a nice summer night with friends and neighbors.
