A Slam Dunk At 14th
Street
I
want to share some great news. We will soon be
building a brand new, full size basketball court,
with bleachers and new fencing, across from the new
Michael K. Green Skatepark.
The new basketball court will add a full city block
of park space to the 14th Street greenbelt, between
Pine Ave. & Locust. We proposed this new park a few
months ago, and are grateful that Los Angeles County
Supervisor Don Knabe secured $140,000 to fully fund
the project.
One of my priorities has been to re-imagine and
enhance the 14th Street greenbelt and neighborhood
with new park elements and increased green space.
The recently completed Skatepark was the first piece
of this project. The next phase includes many
improvements, beginning with the new basketball
court.
I’m very grateful to Supervisor Knabe and the City
of Long Beach Department of Parks & Recreation
Department for making this possible.
I can’t wait to shoot some hoops with you!
Go Long Beach!
