Three months ago, I introduced legislation to create a new and innovative search engine for Long Beach businesses and local job seekers. Today, I am proud to announce the launch of www.HireLB.com.

In these tough economic times, www.HireLB.com can assist you with finding a job, creating a resume, starting a businesses, or connecting your business with local residents seeking employment. This dynamic website makes searching for jobs easy and available with one click. Job seekers can pull job listings from more than 50 regional & national job listing boards – including Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, & HotJobs.com.

Also starting today, employers can simply go to www.HireLB.com and review resumes or skill listings without even posting a job announcement. In addition, the resources of our city's career counseling and business development assistance are all available from this site.

I am proud of this project and the joint efforts between the City of Long Beach and the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network. I want to thank them for all their hard work on this. This website will help thousands of Long Beach residents and businesses, and brings our city one step closer to becoming a leader in technology.
