A New Regional Park In Long Beach Moves Forward

At tonight's State of the First District, I will be announcing that with the support of Supervisor Don Knabe, the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, and our Parks & Recreation Department, we have secured the $150,000 necessary to begin the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Drake Park Expansion project.

By the time this major expansion is complete, the new Drake Park will be largest regional park in West and Downtown Long Beach with three new soccer fields, restored wetlands, a nature center, community center, and the restoration of the historical Drake Park. This is a major project for Long Beach that will transform our city, and I can't wait to get this next phase started.

I will be sharing this and other exciting news at our State of the First District tonight at Renaissance High School at 6pm. I hope to see you there.

Go Long Beach!
